Welcome back! We hope you have all had a relaxing and STEM-filled reading week.

As many are probably aware, last Sunday marked 100 years since the end of the First World War, a great tragedy in British history.

In the article below, Simon Worrall examines how life would have been different for those women alive and active in science a century ago. He discusses a new book 'A Lab of One's Own' with it's author, Fellow of Claire College, Cambridge and President of the British Society for the History of Science, Patricia Fara.

Addressing topics from trench foot to autoradiography, this article truly exemplifies the versatility and courage of the Women in STEM at the time and is definitely worth a read!
